Our approach to our people is driven by the belief that a thriving workforce is built on empowerment and wellbeing. By providing our teams with the resources, support, and environment needed to drive Partner Success, we’re cultivating a culture where productivity and job satisfaction go hand-in-hand.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are at the heart of our approach. We’ve fostered the growth of our workforce by offering individuals the opportunities they need to realise their career aspirations.
We also prioritise equitable access to skills and development training, nurturing the professional growth of our people.
And when our people feel their best, they do their best. That’s why we invest in creating a work environment that’s flexible, supportive, and equipped with expert resources to ensure the health and happiness of our employees.
Our values
Our company values are the foundation of our culture, underpinning everything we do and helping us deliver exceptional employee and partner experiences. They also help us lead by example and inspire positive change among our communities, while shaping a more equitable future for our stakeholders.
This FY23*, we asked employees to take part in a survey about our values, with a goal of seeing how well they understood and related to them. As a result of the feedback, we decided we would introduce ‘Inclusion’ as a value in FY24. This transformative step will help us strengthen our culture of respect and belonging, while enhancing employee engagement, decision-making, and our collaborative workforce.

Recognising each other through our values
We foster a culture where our people proactively steer our values and translate them into tangible actions and behaviours.
Through our internal recognition platform, employees can nominate and acknowledge their colleagues based on each of these values:

To further embed DEI into our culture, we’ve continued our ‘ONE Westcon’ programme. Launched in 2020, ONE Westcon is an internal initiative that aims to raise awareness and support areas relating to DEI.
Through ONE Westcon, we run DEI-focused events and organise activities around awareness days and cultural celebrations. We also provide education and an awareness calendar to engage and inform employees.
ONE Westcon has led to the creation of 10 employee resource groups (ERGs) globally. Each ERG focuses on a different topic, chosen by our employees, that help us improve working practices.
Our ERGs provide a safe space for stories to be heard, mentorship to be provided, and policies to be built upon, reflecting a true sense of community within our workforce.
In FY23, we expanded our ERGs to APAC, introducing three groups to the region.
Employee Survey: 2022 Results
We actively encourage and empower our employees to voice their thoughts and to contribute to the growth and development of our organisation. Gaining insights into how our people experience life at our company also allows us to make more informed decisions, find creative solutions to challenges, and enhance our people’s journeys with us.
One way we do this is through our annual Employee Survey, designed to help us get a better understanding of morale, satisfaction, and engagement.
This year, we achieved an 80% participation rate (-2% from 2021), resulting in a reliable representative sample and demonstrating that our employees have a vested interest in the business.

More on our numbers
We saw percentage increases across each closed question, apart from the percentage of employees who are familiar with our company values (down 1% from 2021).
In the next fiscal year, we’re planning to reintroduce our company values following the addition of ‘Inclusion’, alongside a new look and feel. We believe doing so will help us address the decrease.
We will also continue

- Investing in training across all regions
- Supporting our employees’ financial wellbeing
- Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our employees
