Philanthropic initiatives
Christmas gifts for New Zealand’s Starship Children’s Hospital
We began raising funds for The Starship Foundation, New Zealand's national children's hospital, in 2021, before becoming an official corporate sponsor.
In FY23, we continued our support by donating Christmas gifts for the children at the hospital.
Australia HR’s walk for Ronald McDonald Foundation
Our HR Business Partners in Australia took part in the ‘CEO Walk in My Shoes’ charity drive for the Ronald McDonald Foundation.
Hong Kong Charity Walk
Our colleagues in Hong Kong completed a 10km walk in the suburbs to raise money for homeless pets.
Clean Up Hong Kong’s Trails
Some of our most enthusiastic hikers in Hong Kong participated in Clean Up Hong Kong’s Trails, donating their time to clean up some of the region’s hiking routes.
Sponsored cycle for Duchenne muscular dystrophy in Northern Europe
Our colleagues in Northern Europe took part in a sponsored cycle to raise awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Toy donations for the UAE’s Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital
Over the Christmas period, we donated toys to Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, the first dedicated children’s hospital in the UAE.
Local UK food banks
Over the Christmas period, we supported food banks local to each of our UK sites with donations by our team members.
UK Festive Fun Day for Shelter
We had a ‘Festive Fun Day’ at our UK offices, encouraging employees to donate to Shelter, a charity supporting housing and homelessness.
We wore festive outfits, brought food to share, enjoyed games, a raffle, and had fun posing in a photo booth.
Planting seeds after typhoon Karding in the Philippines
After typhoon Karding, our Philippines teams took action by planting mangrove seedlings in Noveleta Cavite to support the local community.
Singapore Walk for Charity
Through our Walk for Charity, we raised $15,860 for Food from the Heart, an organisation that feeds those in need in Singapore.
Raising money for Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
We volunteered at the UAE centre to help improve the quality of life for its residents.
Mandela Day food drive in South Africa
Westcon South Africa took part in a canned food drive for Mandela Day and Meals on Wheels, a programme that delivers meals to individuals who can’t purchase or prepare their own.
Altogether, we collected over 2,000 cans for the programme.
Community service day
In APAC, our teams receive a Community Service Leave Benefit, which encourages employees to spend a day volunteering and participating in corporate social responsibility activities.
This year, our uptake of volunteer hours increased by 100+, as teams undertook volunteer projects at school camps, youth camps, charity organisations, and more.
Free school lunches in New Zealand
One team in New Zealand spent their volunteer day making 670+ lunches with Eat My Lunch, an organisation that provides free lunch to children in need.
